Listen over the last few years, I've spent over 250 000 on courses in education, and I can tell you one thing: not all the paid courses that I spent my money on were worth the investment, in fact, some of the free ones that I've done were significantly Better than many of the paid courses that I enrolled in you just need to know which ones to pick so you don't waste your time and struggle to apply in the real world. Listen Harvard are offering over 150 online courses for free, but the truth is that many are actually hard to monetize.
So today I want to spend some time and specifically show you the seven ones that you can take and start making money online right away. But first there's almost no point in learning about all these free online courses. Until you understand the giant trap that almost everybody always falls into and that stops them from making money when they take online courses for free, you might be asking yourself.
Why do I have this giant crate next to me in the article, and why am I trying to open it right now, especially making all this noise right? Well, listen! Opening this crate! Believe it or not, is a little bit like making money online. It can be really hard, especially when you don't have the right tools.
If you actually want to succeed, then you need your toolbox. You need to be able to show your future clients that you've got what it takes to help them Reach the result they want without any shadow of a doubt, and unless you're a plumber, a carpenter, a painter, you get the idea where you actually have a toolbox To rely on then, in most cases for most of us, it's going to be your skills, your education and your Authority.
That is going to qualify you and enable you to actually make money, and this is why today we're going to talk about the one thing that is going to instantly give you the education, the knowledge and the authority to be able to make money again and again, A course at Harvard it goes without saying that Harvard is one of the best universities in the world and that people pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to get an education there.
By the way, did you know that Natalie Portman and Conan O'Brien and former president Barack Obama, but also Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and Julie, Bowen and Ryan Fitzpatrick, also went to Harvard? I know it's pretty incredible to think that now they offer courses online for free, which means you get to learn from the best and get the tools that are going to help you to make money, including online.
Again and again, I think that's pretty amazing right and before we dive in. I need to say this: not me not anybody else knows for how long these courses are going to stay free.
So if you don't want to miss out, I would go and check them out today, alright, so the first course or actually suit of courses that I would recommend you go and take for free from Harvard is one for which the market demand has been booming over The last few years, in fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the US, the demand for jobs for this type of skill is expected to increase 11 every year by 2030, or until I should say not only that, but also when it comes to payment.
You can expect to make at least a hundred thousand dollars a year if you get this skill. Do you know what I'm talking about computer science?
Yes, technology skills are on the rise and if you decide to go and get educated at Harvard, then you give yourself a huge advantage over anyone in the market and in terms of how you can monetize this skill. I mean the opportunities are endless. Really you could freelance and offer web design and create web pages for customers. You could could work in cyber security. If you want to specialize in that field, you could create mobile, apps or web apps.
You could specialize in cloud computing. If that's something that interests you really the number of options that you have, if you go and learn, computer science for free from Harvard is literally endless, so go check it out. The second type, of course, that I would absolutely encourage you to go and check out for free from Harvard is one that is going to give you the right skills to not just get really well paid, but also have a ton of fun at work. This type of skill is going to be perfect for you if you love having fun and playing while also working. I know that sounds like a dream.
Doesn'T it well, you can do that if you become a game developer right, so you could go and check out the courses that Harvard are offering for free to become a game developer, because the gaming industry has been growing incredibly fast. It'S literally been skyrocketing over the last years, especially now with the development of the metaverse. So the whole industry in the us alone is expected to reach 200 billion this year and the demand for skilled people who are able to bring a lot of expertise around game development is expected to grow 22 percent per year until 2030. So definitely a lot of opportunity, but now what can you do once you get this kind of skills? Well, you could obviously get a job and go work for the many Indie companies that develop games, but also for some of the very well-known ones, because your Harvard Education is going to come very significant in discussion in your interviews with those companies as well or you Could choose to freelance and maybe even grow that and start your your own business, maybe just started as a side hustle at the beginning, where you help smaller companies develop games or you could do game design for them or you could do maybe game testing at the Beginning and then get involved in the game, design and game development too, and with this you will be absolutely seen as an expert once you have the Harvard Education under your belt number three is another one that is seeing incredible growth in the marketplace and this one.
According to the US Bureau of Labor, Statistics is going to see an increase in demand of 31 by 2030, which is pretty incredible, and if you love data, then this is absolutely for you, and here I'm talking about statistics and data science Harvard are offering some pretty Incredible courses that are online and free that you can take if you want to go down this path, and not only do I feel there is going to be so much demand for this kind of skills. But but you will be able to make between 80 and 120 000 per year if you choose to work full time.
If you want to become a freelancer, you can do that absolutely with this kind of skill set as well - and I think the great thing about taking this path is that Harvard are offering not just Basics courses that will introduce you in the world of data science And statistics, but you can also go to the next level and learn to code and become, for example, a machine learning engineer. So you would be able to create algorithms, and you will be able to use your passion for technology and statistics to really be at The Cutting Edge of any technological development moving forward. So definitely look into this one.
I think it is going to serve you tremendously. The next one is, in my opinion, just as exciting, but it will be for you, if you're into Data but you'll love more the insights, part and more the representation and Reporting side of things, and here I'm obviously talking about visualization and data analysis. So if you would love to be involved in this huge movement in revolution around data and if you want to not be left behind but ride the wave then look into the courses that are being offered by Harvard around data visualization and data analysis.
There'S more than one, and they will be able to teach you not just the basics but you'll be able to become a real specialist when it comes to data visualization, and the reason why I believe this is such a great opportunity is because not only can you Use it as a full-time job, but you can do that as a side hustle as well, because every company, big or small, is looking to make more sense of their data. I literally work with so many companies, and I see so many teams struggling to make sense of the data that they have and to be able to make more informed decisions based on that data and if they're not doing this, then they're already losing they're already at A loss and - and you would be able to show your impact so quickly by enabling them to become smarter, to make better decisions that ultimately will reflect in their business outcomes.
They will be able to make more money, they will be able to save money, and that is the power of data and insights that you will be able to deliver to them. If you choose to go and learn about data visualization and data analytics from Harvard number five is one that I believe will allow you to become something that a lot of people around me are aspiring to be, and some of them have spent years and years preparing Themselves to be that, but also others are really struggling to get started, and this could give anybody a huge Edge.
And here I'm talking about two courses, not just one. One of them is related to leadership and the other one is related to remote work. And if you decide to take these two courses which are free offered by Harvard, then you would be able able to acquire a good amount of knowledge and learn from the best professors out there how to be a better leader.
And what this will enable you to do? On the one hand, very obviously, if you're already in a role, you could become a people manager and get a leadership position. But that's not what I'm talking about once you take these courses, then you would be able to offer your knowledge and expertise in so many great ways as a side hustle, and you could obviously do that as a leadership coach. So you could work with new managers. You could work with people who are just starting out in this realm of leadership and guide them at the beginning.
You could offer your services to companies who offer leadership coaching and, for example, write for them. Content for social media write blogs for them write their newsletters by the way, if you're interested in writing as well. So make sure you check that one out as soon as this article is over all in all, if you're interested in leadership - and maybe you have some experience as a people manager - then definitely check out. Those two courses from Harvard number six is a course in persuasive.
Writing - and you might be thinking okay, but how do I monetize that? Well, it's actually not as hard as you think, because persuasive writing is so critical for sales. So once you take the course in persuasive writing, you will have a great tool set to be able to write copy for sale, so sales copy or copywriting services.
So you will be able to very quickly and very lucratively monetize this skill. If you choose to become specialized in writing copy for sales - and here you could do that for landing pages for any products or services that are being sold online, you could write email sequences for funnels that are being used for companies to follow up with their leads And convert them into clients, or you could do that as an end-to-end service, for anybody who is looking to let's say up their game when it comes to their online sales and are looking for somebody who is not just talented but also educated in persuasive.
Writing. So look into this training. I honestly think everybody should take it. Last but not least, there are a lot of very specialty courses, as I call them so here we're talking about the art of cooking, so culinary art we're talking about nutrition. We'Re talking about religion, about all sorts of, very unique and very Niche topics, and you might be wondering yeah, but I really don't see a way to monetize those.
Actually, there is a very good one, and that is not only by then becoming, for example, and online tutor and teaching others about the topics that you learn at Harvard and by the way online tutoring could be an opportunity for you for any of the other six Types of courses that I've talked about, you can teach others how to do what you've learned at Harvard, but specifically for these ones. Regardless of whether we're talking about sustainability, related courses, religion, related courses or nutrition related courses, you could very easily offer to write content for companies who are selling products or services in those Industries or niches.
So, for example, let's say you're taking the nutrition course from Harvard well, you will definitely know a lot about the topic, so you can go to any nutrition coach and offer them to write content for their social media for their blog for their newsletter and any other Social presence that they have, you could maybe work with them on their online courses if they have any or they want to create, create any and bring a lot of that knowledge and expertise that you will have learned at Harvard.
Not only that, but if you feel comfortable - and maybe you have some previous experience and expertise when it comes to any of these topics, then you could think about creating your own online courses and then you will be able to monetize in a much bigger way and At a different scale, the knowledge and insights that you will have gathered through these free online courses from Harvard okay, so by now, you're - probably wondering that's great and all. But where do I find these courses right?
So you might have gone already to Harvard's official website and searched for free courses, and you probably haven't found them, and that is because they are on edx. That is the platform that offers the free Harvard courses online. So all you need to do is go to edx.org forward, slash School forward, slash harvardx or if you don't want to remember the whole all link, then you only need to go to edx.org and at the top of the menu at the top of the page.
You'Ll find an option for schools and partners, and there you will see Harvard as well and once you click on Harvard, you will get all courses that they have now. My recommendation to you is that you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the show, all courses, and once you do, that, you will be able to control, find or command find, depending on which type of computer you use. And what OS you have? You will be able to find any kind, of course, that you are looking for. So you can search for entrepreneurship.
You can search for leadership for computer science for data science data analytics data visualization any of the ones that I've talked about in this article. You can just search for them once you have expanded to see all of the courses on the website. I hope this was helpful.
